About Us
Our lifetime commitment to the canine world has been exclusively devoted to El DOGO ARGENTINO.
It got underway in 1950, in our native Argentina, when our first "White King of the Pampas" was received from
the developer of the breed, Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez.
Upon moving away from Argentina, at the beginning of 1970, we introduced El Dogo Argentino in the
United States. Three males and three females of the existing bloodlines were then brought to our "new home"
in Quanah, Texas, to be used in an ambitious genetic program.
Half a century later, at our facility on the Palm Beaches of sunny Florida, we stay proud to continue crafting
similar Dogos of unsurpassed original type, soundness and true-stable temperament.
Our Kennels have been registered with Federacion Cinologica Argentina (FCA) since 1971 and our canines
bear Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) registration.
Our experience with the breed is not based on hearsay and/or the mere reading of breed books! We
had the good fortune to be personally acquainted with Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez and to befriend some of his
brothers, including Dr. Agustin Nores Martinez, under whom we participated in the field evaluation of early Dogos
in the wilds of Patagonia (Southern Argentina) and the quest to promote the breed for acceptance by world canine
organizations. The gratifying effort we contributed to those endeavors, was highly compensated with invaluable
knowledge of the original Dogo Argentino and the developer's ideology behind those canines.
Our purpose is the preservation of EL DOGO ARGENTINO, as envisioned by Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez,
through faithful dissemination of his ideas and the production of superb quality representatives of this breed.
Our breeding is based upon the best available stock brought from Argentina and the use of the latest U. S.
developed reproduction techniques, including "state-of-the-art" testing for bi-lateral hearing (B.A.E.R.) and hip
dysplasia (PennHip). All our Dogos carry a contractual, lifetime guarantee against genetic defects penalized by the
		original standard.
At Las Pampas Kennels, Dogos are bred to meet the original standard provided by their initiator in
1947 and we fervently oppose any alteration to that norm. Willful changes, only tend to obliterate the
Dogo Argentino in its unique conception and are usually advocated by those unable to turn out specimens
that meet the ideal set forth by the originator of the breed. We cannot emphasize enough our warning
about those adverse efforts that left unattended, will culminate in the destruction of our magnificent breed.
